1. Why is there barely any lag between the approval copies and the copies you’re going to ship out? I know you’ve gone through bluelines and ARCs by now but if something isn’t right there doesn’t seem to be enough time to catch it.

    • The approval copies are to let us see the final product before we give the okay for the freight company to pick them up at the printer. The books are already done, all boxed up and wrapped on pallets. We just like to get a couple of copies ahead of time. The opportunity for catching errors — typos and incorrect materials and the such — was during production and before the final bluelines, stamping samples, etc, were approved.
