  1. Not to take away from Robert McCammon, but the first small press limited edition book that I was lucky enough to purchase was Stephen King’s The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger. I had no idea how lucky I was to find it back in 1980-something.

And on the other hand, I also wasn’t aware of how hooked I would end up on limited editions and how much money I would spend on them.

    1. I was two or three years old when The Gunslinger was first published by Donald Grant. 😉

The first Limited Edition I actually bought was also from them, Wizard & Glass in 1997.

  2. Jesus, you make me feel old. The first limited Edition I loved with its wrap-around dust jacket and purchased was Firestarter when it came out, and The Gunslinger. Mindy just wrote me that your new limited was on its way. See, habits are hard to break.

  3. I agree I actually own an orignal piece of art from “Swan Song” by Charles Lang who is one of my favorite artists. He did a number of ‘cool” covers for Cemetery Dance but it’s been quite a long time since I’ve seen any of his art. And of course “Swan Song” is one of the best books ever written. I used to work in a book store and would always recommend it to customers who were buying “The Stand” Diana

    1. In high school, I worked at Waldenbooks and the manager was a horror fan. We actually still had a horror section and everything. So just like you, when I saw customers buying The Stand, I would also mention Swan Song to them. If they bought both, most of them were very happy the next time I saw them.
