Blu Gilliand over at October Country has written a tremendously nice review of More Than Midnight, my little horror collection of short stories that was published in December by Cemetery Dance and quickly sold out. As a writer, this is one of those unexpected reviews that just shows up in your “Google Alerts” and makes your entire day. Here is the beginning:
Brian James Freeman is one of those writers that someone, some day, is going to call an “overnight success,” completely ignorant of the fact that the guy has been pounding a keyboard for years, honing his craft and developing his voice the way all good writers do.
You can read the rest over at October Country. In fact, I highly recommend Blu’s suggestion of an “alternate” way to read the book. I wish I had thought of it myself.
And for those who asked, yes, the collection will be out in trade paperback and electronic formats later this year. Thanks again for the support!
I was really disappointed to miss out on this book. Guess I’ll have to wait for the paperback or the kindle version. Sounds like a great read.
I’m hoping to have the Kindle version out by the end of summer. There are a couple of other projects that need to ship first and then I’ll really be able to get caught-up on my eBooks. Thanks!
I too shall get this in Paperback form……or maybe I can get it on the secondary market! So tick at myself for letting this one slip through my fingers! I am such a duh!
Thank you! I hope you like it!
Wow, that’s an awesome review. I’ve never even had a teacher say anything that great about things I wrote.
I think I had maybe two teachers who were generally supportive of my writing, but no one was really all that encouraging. It would have been great to have one of those teachers you always see in the movies who pushes you to achieve your dreams, though. 🙂
Sweet review, great cover and now on my ‘to-read’ list.
Thanks, Hunter!
Read it. Agree wholeheartedly. Good job BJF.
Thank you, Rick! Very much appreciated.
